4th International Workshop on
Mutant p53

In vivo effects of mutant p53:
experimental data, animal models, clinical consequences

27-29 March 2009, Akko (Acre), Israel

Meeting scope

This fourth p53 mutant workshop was held in Akko (also named Acre), Israel. It covered topics ranging from the origin of mutations to their biological and clinical impacts and therapeutic use in human cancers. A special emphasis was put on animal models and on preclinical, in vivo data.

As for the 2nd and 3rd workshops, the annual meetings of two research consortiums working on p53 and funded by the European Community were held in conjunction with this international workshop. The Active p53 consortium meeting took place on 26 March 2009 and the MUTp53 consortium meeting on 30 March 2009. The consortium meetings were on invitation only.

A review article, "Recent advances in p53 research: an interdisciplinary perspective", that summarizes findings presented at the 3rd Workshop is freely available on Cancer Gene Therapy website.

Reports and abstracts from previous workshops are available at http://www-p53.iarc.fr/Events.html.
